ABOUT ANNA

Anna Schmidt is the award-winning author of over twenty works of historical and contemporary fiction.  Consistently awarded four stars by Romantic Times, one reviewer notes that “Schmidt is not timid about presenting her characters with their faults laid bare for the reader to see.” Currently Anna is [J2] working on a trilogy of contemporary novels about Mennonites living in the community of Pinecraft just outside Anna’s winter home of Sarasota, Florida. She also write historical romances about Amish settlers who came to the west coast of Florida in the early 20th century.  Anna has been a finalist for the coveted RITA award for romance fiction three times and has twice before won Romantic Times magazine’s Reviewer’s Choice Award. Her novel A CONVENIENT WIFE won a Holt Medallion Award of Merit for Short Inspirational. Having survived her own battle with uterine cancer and discovered wellsprings of compassion and caring she never knew she possessed when family members and friends faced their own health challenges, Anna often draws on the questions she has faced in her own life in creating her characters.  In addition to writing, Anna loves gardening and she’s hauled enough seashells home from the Florida beaches that somewhere in the future, archeologists may believe there must have once been an ocean in Wisconsin!
