Anna Schmidt is the award-winning author of historical and contemporary fiction. In addition to receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Wisconsin chapter of the Romance Writers of America (RWA), she has also been a three-time finalist for RWA’s coveted RITA award and has been a finalist and a winner of the Reviewer’s Choice Award from Romantic Times. Consistently given top review ratings by reviewers and readers alike, comments such as “Schmidt is not timid about presenting her characters with their faults laid bare for the reader to see” are typical. Having survived her own battle with uterine cancer and discovered wellsprings of compassion and caring she never knew she possessed when her beloved husband lost his battle to pulmonary hypertension in 2012, Anna often draws on the questions she has faced in her own life in creating her characters. Her Journey Through Widowhood blog has been a source of comfort for others and has brought Anna a good deal of support and solace from those who have shared their own journeys.
